Discover fascinating Lisbon by night
Take the opportunity to discover Lisbon by night on your free Thursday evening and share memorable moments with your spouse/partner and friends. The Corinthia Hotel is conveniently connected by metro to the historical city centre and is just a stone’s throw from Lisbon’s vibrant nightlife.
“Bairro alto” is one of the most intriguing parts of town: a picturesque working-class area dating back to the 16th century, it has traditionally been the city's bohemian haunt of artists and writers. The colourful and graffiti-decorated façades hide a wide variety of excellent traditional and international restaurants, Fado houses (featuring live performances of Portugal’s national music, recently included on the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage List), and a multitude of sleek bars and stylish alternative fashion shops that stay open until late at night. People of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles enjoy the city's usually mild nights, bar-hopping through the cobbled alleys or standing outside with a drink.
The riverside in Alcantara is also inviting at night with its famous and beautifully illuminated bridge “25 de Abril” (a smaller replica of the Golden Gate Bridge) situated in the dock area. Former warehouses overlooking an attractive yacht marina have been transformed into a multitude of cosmopolitan bars, restaurants and clubs for all tastes, making this area one of the city's most pleasant places to visit at night. We would recommend taking a taxi there directly from the hotel.
The EPTDA Social Tour Desk will be happy to assist you in planning your free Thursday evening either prior to or during the convention.
