The imposing convent and its church stand on a hill overlooking the city and facing Lisbon Castle Hill. Built between 1389 and 1423, the Carmo convent and its church reflect the plain Gothic style typical of the mendicant religious orders. The many influences that have pervaded its distinctive architecture and rich decoration make it a unique venue for a memorable evening out of time, under the Lisbon skies.
